Base64 to Image

Decode a Base64 image string or data URI into a downloadable image.

JPEG, PNG, WebP and still GIF images are supported. Maximum 2 MB and 4 megapixels. Images are processed for this response and are not published as files.

How to use this tool

Paste a supported image data URI or raw Base64 string and process it.

Important to know

Decode a Base64 image string or data URI into a downloadable image.

The decoded file must be a valid JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF of at most 2 MB and 4 megapixels. Declared MIME must match actual bytes. No public file is created.

Formula and methodology

Strictly decode Base64, inspect the image signature and dimensions, and provide a local download link.

Example

A data:image/png;base64,... value becomes a downloadable PNG when the bytes are valid.

Frequently asked questions

Can arbitrary Base64 become an image?

No. The decoded bytes must form a valid supported image.
