How to use this tool

Enter 1 to 1,000 decimal numbers separated by commas, spaces or new lines, then calculate.

Important to know

Find the arithmetic mean, median, count and sum of a list of numbers.

Every entered value has equal weight. This is an arithmetic mean, not a weighted average; invalid tokens are rejected.

Formula and methodology

Arithmetic mean = sum of values ÷ count. The median is the middle sorted value, or the mean of the two middle values for an even count.

Example

For 2, 4 and 9, the mean is 5 and the median is 4.

Frequently asked questions

Does a repeated number count more than once?

Yes. Every occurrence is a separate value in the list.
